Audition Requirements

Dates: July 7 - July 28, 2019

Strings

Please prepare the following works on your respective instrument:

Violin

Bach solo – First and second movements from the one of the following Bach Solo Sonatas - No. 1, 2 or 3.

First movement of a major Romantic or 20th century violin concerto (with or without piano accompaniment).

Viola

Solo Bach – Two contrasting movements from a Bach Solo Suite.

First movement of a major 20th century viola concerto (with or without piano accompaniment).

Cello

Solo Bach – Two contrasting movements from a Solo Suite.

First movement of a major Classical (Haydn,  Boccherini), Romantic or 20th century cello concerto (with or without piano accompaniment).

Bass

Solo Bach – Two contrasting movements from a Solo Suite.

First movement of Koussevitsky or Bottesini bass concerto (with or without piano accompaniment).

Piano

Two contrasting works of the applicant’s choice

Pianists interested in collaborative studies should also include one movement of a representative work with at least one other instrument. 

Audition Video Submission:

  • Applicants may submit separate videos for each work.

  • We recommend that a single camera be used for the recording of our audition, which shows your hands and face at all times.

  • All members of a pre-formed ensemble should submit separate and individual applications.

  • Upload your audition video to YouTube and set as Unlisted.  Send the URLs within the space provided on the application form.

  • Announce your full name at the start of the video recording.

APPLICATION DETAILS

Eligibility: Ages 16 – 30 by July 1, 2019, may apply.

Application fee is NON-REFUNDABLE

The application fee is $50 and must accompanied with the completed online application. Applications without proper fee payment will be not be processed.
